BEST DEMO CD FOR THE MONTH APRIL IN GREEK SCENE
Side project ή κανονικό συγκρότημα
που έχει σαν σκοπό να εξερευνήσει
και ν' αποκαλύψει καινούργια
μονοπάτια δημιουργικότητας
κι έκφρασης; Όπως και να 'χει,
το σίγουρο είναι πως οι Insected
είναι ένα συγκρότημα που
ενδιαφέρει κάθε φίλο του
κολασμένου, καταιγιστικού
death metal. Σίγουρα η παρουσία μέσα
στο συγκρότημα της Tristessa από
τις Astarte, αποτελεί ένα σημείο
που θα κάνει πολύ κόσμο να
στρέψει την προσοχή του
προς τη μπάντα πριν καν ακούσει
το "Killing for Recreation". Όταν όμως τελειώσει
η ακρόαση, τότε αυτό το γεγονός
δεν θα σημαίνει και πολλά
για τον ακροατή καθώς θα
έχει καταλάβει πως το παρθενικό
demo των Insected είναι από μόνο του
ικανό να του τραβήξει αλλά
και να διατηρήσει την προσοχή
του πάνω στο συγκρότημα.
Και τα τέσσερα κομμάτια
που περιέχει το demo μπορεί
να χαρακτηρίζονται από
τις γρήγορες ταχύτητες,
όμως δεν υστερεί ούτε σε
τεχνική, ούτε σε πάθος. Με
το "Killing for Recreation" οι Insected κάνουν ένα τρομερά
δυναμικό μπάσιμο, ενώ θεωρώ
κάτι παραπάνω από σίγουρο
πως θα καταφέρουν να επιβάλλουν
τ' όνομά τους σαν μία από τις
πλέον υποσχόμενες κι ανερχόμενες
μπάντες της χώρας.

INSECTED is
a new band, who released their first demo Cd three months ago. The band has one member from the Greek black metal band Astarte,
Tristessa and the ex-vocalist from Dark Vision, Nicolas, sic Maiis. The band recorded four tracks for their debut release
and they have already have done a video clip for the opening song “Locked Up”. The music direction that they have
chosen to follow is brutal death metal with a lot of thrash metal elements. The first thing that you can easily understand,
is the massive and almost excellent production that the band has done. Believe me; if I didn’t know the past from them,
I would definitely say that it will be a foreign band. To imagine the music from INSECTED, combine influences from Malevolent
Creation, Morbid Angel and Krisiun, plus a lot of personal elements and you ‘ll have a pretty shrewd idea of what to
expect from them. Definitely, one of the best demos in the production department, that I have received in last year. If you
are into the death / thrash metal you must check this album, because I believe the next step is to record their debut album.
A very good piece of music and very nice compositions.
Insected - MCD Killing For Recreation (Eigen beheer)
Op de website van het Griekse Insected (in de biografie) wordt doodleuk beweerd dat deze band,
opgericht in 2004, een van de eerste Griekse death/thrash metalbands is. Ik ga er maar even vanuit dat dit een typfout of
iets dergelijks is, want daar klopt dus geen hout van. Gelukkig slaat dit trio met hun muziek wél de spijker op z'n kop.
Middels
vier stampvoetende tracks laat dit Griekse trio US death metal van een zeer behoorlijk niveau horen, die bovendien voorzien
is van een log, maar opgeruimd geluid. En ook al liggen de vergelijkingen met tal van genregenoten de gehele speelduur voor
het oprapen, de effectiviteit wordt er zeker niet minder om. Welke genregenoten? Denk aan een mix van Serial Butcher, Dying
Fetus en Cattle Decapitation.

for pleasure is the conception of Greek soul destroyers Insected. The definite distinction of the band is
the participation of Tristessa (the frontwoman of woman project Astarte), who is responsible for regurgitation
of verses. Worth mentioning that this is done quite successfully! Tristessa produces somewhat indelicate to woman's throat
brutal growling, so that some men would love to be capable of doing so! Raging pressure of death/thrash riffs, destructive
and detrimental with relation to drum kit beats, speed and power... The machine of violence is working on full power and ready
for carrying out immediate euthanasia.

had never intended to speak about Insected before discovering this demonstration wedged with the last album of Astarte ` Sirens'.
Which relationship with the Greek métalleuses black will you say to me? Hé well musicalement no, the only common point is
that this group of brutal death Greek metal formed in 2004 counts in its rows beautiful Tristessa (guitariste/chanteuse and
leader of Astarte) with the post of bassiste/vocalist at the sides of the singer Nicolas Sic Maiis (ex-Dark Vision), of the
guitarist Cris Veleris and of the beater Ice. ` Killing For Recreation' is the first realization of the quartet, which obviously
made profitable all its experiment and its passion to compose a music of great quality. The four pieces profit indeed from
an excellent sound (recorded with the Nemesis studio) which emphasizes well the death metal fast and devastating of Insected,
whose at the same time direct, technical and very effective style as well evokes Vader, Krisiun that Morbid Angel, with very
tangible thrash influences on ` Cut The Strings' for example. Each title brings its batch of riffs hookers, of unexpected
changes of tempo, scouring parts of battery and vocal gutturaux all the more heinous as it are doubled. Not large-thing to
be added if not that four pieces for 12 mn, it is well too short. But with a similar demonstration under the arm, Insected
will not have any evil to quickly find a label to leave its first album...

Here's a million dollar or euro (if you prefer) question: Can a black metaller compose interesting
death metal compositions? He he, I will try to answer it here before someone else does, because I don't have that amount of
money to give :). Seriously now, Insected is a band formed by Nikos Maiis, the former singer of DARK VISION (melodic black
metal) with the participation of Tristessa (ASTARTE) on the bass guitar. The result of this cooperation is extremely good
and I believe that it's by far the best moment in Nick's career. The band is moving on the path of U.S. death metal with influences
mainly from VADER, SLAYER and some AT THE GATES elements (on the song "Cut Of Strings"). The band's performance is skillful
and at the same time their music will drive you crazy. Not even one song lacks of quality and even I, that I am not a big
death metal fan, I can say that Insected made me feel exstatic with the sounds unfolded from their music. For more info, CONTACT:

Okay, aus Griechenland stammt diese Band und wurde erst 2004
gegrόndet. Na ja, ehrlich gesagt, habe ich bis dato nichts vernόnftiges aus Griechenland gehφrt und ausser
Rotting Christ kenne ich eigentlich auch keine( kommen die όberhaupt aus Griechenland). Irgendwie nach Martyrium Christ
oder bekomme ich jetzt einiges durcheinander.Merken, kein Bier vor Reviews trinken.Allerdings belehren mich Insected eines
besseren. Diese MCd mit 4 Songs gefδllt mir echt gut. Eine brutale Mischung aus Death und Thrash Metal. „Locked
up“, „Rejection of light“, „unfold the Conspiracy“ und „ Cutting the strings“ gehen
dermaίen nach vorne los, das die Schwarte kracht. Hier boxt der Papst und Bush tantz Tango. Roh, wild und brutal, so
lieben wir es. Es sind zwar keine Blastbeats vorhanden, trotzdem treibt das Schlagzeug schon nach vorne und bewegt die Gitarristen,
schφne, agressive und schnelle Riffs zu spielen. Hinzu kommt eine brauchbare Produktion aus den Nemesis Studios und eine
fette, agressive Stimme. Diese Ding soll angeblich mit einen goldenen Cover erscheinen. Dieses lag mir leider nicht vor. Natόrlich
als Digipack. Wie gesagt, dieses Ding kann mich wirklich όberzeugen. Wie heiίt es so schφn beim Anfang von:“Unfold
the conspiracy?“.“It is a long way to hell!“Genau, lass uns die Zeit mit dieser MCD vertreiben. Deaththrasher
werden sicherlich ihre Freude haben, auch auch andere Metalfans.Lecker brutal, das Ganze.
TEMPLE OF METAL(GREECE)
When Tristessa from Astarte,
send to me their latest album, "Sirens" which was release in May, she included in the package a demo cd from a band called
Insected. As she told to me this demo is the first attempt from this newcomer band. Of course Tristessa, is a member of this
band. So, immediately I putted the disk in my cd player to hear the music from this band and after the first listening, I
couldn't believe what I have just heard.
If I didn't knew that Insected
is a Greek metal band, then for sure I will believe that this band will be from abroad. Insected deliver to us, pure death
metal with brutal vocals and some very interesting and very difficult guitar riffs. The drummer plays unbelievable things.
Why this demo has only four songs? For sure the band will find easily a label to release their debut album.
For sure the production from
Insected is one of the best i have ever heard in the demo releases. They did an excellent work in this section. I believe
they work more in the artwork section too and then everything will be fine. If you want to know some influences from Insected
you can imagine a mixture of Krisiun, Morbid Angel and Malevolent Creation.
Last but not least I found some
thrash metal elements, especially in the first songs. This demo is a very corrupt from the first to the last song. Well done.
